Kandu's last offspring died

Athena, a 4-year-old orca calf died at Marineland Canada. Her date or cause of death hasn't been released but it's believed she died in Spring 2009. Athena was born to Kiska and Kandu7* on August 8th, 2004 and was their last living offspring; and the last calf born at that facility. Many of Marineland calves died at a very young age. Athena left her mother and young male Ikaika behind.

RIP little girl

Lovey's Calf got a name

Lovey's calf, born on October 13, 2008, has been named アー ス, which means Earth. From January 11 till February 28, people were allowed to send in name suggestions for the male orca. It's not known whether his name is "Earth" or the Japanes pronounciation of アース. There will be no changes on Ocean's Cutest until that has been clarified.

Sharkan died at Marineland France

Unfortunately Sharkan passed away on January 3. Apparently she has been sick for about 2 months. Two orcas are supposed to leave MLF, when the park was bought by a Spanish company. L'Oceanographic in Valencia wants to display orcas in 2009/2010. Valentin and Inouk were the names that have been trown around, which means Freya and Wikie would be alone at a park with 5 big pools, while other parks going to be crowded soon.

RIP beautiful girl
